One thing we’ve noticed during our decades in business is that many homeowners don’t know what to expect as far as the window replacement process in Pittsburgh.

If you’re thinking about replacing outdated windows, here are the five stages of the process.

1 – In-Home Consultation

During the initial consultation, we’ll discuss your needs, show you the many styles of windows we offer, and help you make the right choice for each room in your home. We’ll also provide an accurate cost estimate and explain our flexible financing options.

2 – Precise Laser Measurements

Next, we take precise laser measurements of each window. Using laser measurements ensures accurate measurements for a proper fit.

3 – Factory Fabrication

Once you’ve made your window selections and the measurements are taken, each new window will be custom-fabricated based on those detailed measurements.

4 – Installation Day

When the windows are ready, a team of installers arrives in the morning with everything they need to get the job done right. In many cases, we’ll finish the job in one day, but that depends on the number of windows being installed. Typically, it takes between 30 and 60 minutes per window, and the team can install 10-15 windows in one day.

5 – Post-Installation Inspection

After all the windows are installed, we’ll perform a post-installation inspection to ensure that each window operates properly, check the glass for defects, and check for any gaps or leaks around the window edges.

Prepping Before Installation Day

There are a few things homeowners can do to get ready for installation day.

  • Move furniture away from the area where windows will be installed.
  • Make arrangements for pets.
  • Be prepared for some noise i.e., cancel work meetings, have noise-canceling or noise-lessening headsets on hand.
  • Protect floors and furniture with dropcloths.
  • Have cleaning supplies ready to clean up any dust.
